NEWSFLASH - Blue Planet Divers becomes PADI 5 Star IDC Centre


Our Divemaster courses have proved really popular over the last few years and the feedback from our students was that most of them would have loved to have gone on and completed their Instructors course with us too. So we are please to announce that this year we are joined by Camille Leemens, a Platinum Course Director, who will be offering Instructor courses in November 2010 and March 2010. Camille offers a wealth of experience having taught over 60 IDCs (Instructor Development Courses) to over 250 Candidates. He has a 98% pass rate and like us focuses on creating employable Instructors with the right skills and attitude.

Open All Year

Blue Planet Divers are now open throughout the year and already we have had a great start to the 'Green' Season. The weather is hot, hot, hot and the diving is awesome!. Manta Rays and Lacy Scorpion Fish at Hin Daeng and all the dives sites are looking beautiful and have very few divers on them.

As we all want to take it easy at this time of year, we are now offering 'Lazy Sunday' where we leave an hour later to enjoy the diving at Hin Bida and Koh Maa before having a beer on our way back. So come over now and enjoy having beaches to yourself, bargain prices on accommodation and some great diving.

Great Bunch

This year our Divemaster Trainees were as much fun as ever, having 9 this year meant the dive shop was full most of the time with them working on their dive theory, surfing the internet or dealing with hangovers!

Luke our first Divemaster Trainee this year is now our full time Boatmaster and 'Dingo Dave from the previous year is now our permanent French/English Divemaster.

But what happened to the rest.....

• Danielle went straight back to Italy with the offer of a full time job and an instructor course.
• Emma is working in the Perhentians in Malaysia.
• Ciaran is currently in Malaysia but off to South America later this year to help a charity and learn Spanish.
• Aude is, we believe, still in love and in Sweden!
• Sabrina wants to sell everything in Paris and return (we miss you too).
• Raggy is working back in Denmark but hopes to return in the Winter.
• And of course Chris and Jane have just completed their Instructor's Course in The Perhentians. Good luck guys.

Goodbye, Hello Again!

Congratulations to Tech Dave who had left us to run a Technical Diving Centre in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, we wish him well but miss him loads.

Tech Dave is being replaced by Tech Ben who worked with us for a few years before taking a break from full time diving.

He has a wealth of experience and will be a real asset to the team. Check out our Technical Diving Page for more information.

Freediving


Freediving proved so popular this year that we had to double our instructors to cope with the volumes. All our diving instructors and most of our Divemaster Trainees got the bug and completed their AIDA ** course or more during high season. Both Gediminas and Colin love the sport so much that they are both planning on becoming Freediving instructors!

Freediving courses will start again in October, so hurry up and book. We are also waiting to hear whether one of our most popular instructors will be joining us next year, fingers crossed!
