Blue Planet Divers is a family orientated Dive Centre and we are the ideal choice for families as our spacious boat provides plenty of room for Divers and Snorkellers and our staff are all great with kids.
Do not fancy diving but love snorkelling or just chilling on our boat whilst we visit some beautiful islands? Many of the dive sites we go to are great snorkelling sites and offer some amazing photo opportunities. We provide snorkelling equipment and instruction from our affable Divemasters.
The Bubblemaker experience is a safe and friendly introduction to Scuba Diving for young kids. The course takes an hour including a briefing on diving and the equipment they will be using. The Scuba diving takes place in the safety of a pool or in the sea (to a maximum depth of 2m).
You will be amazed, 8 year old kids are naturals at Scuba Diving!
Want to try Scuba Diving but not sure you want to commit to a whole course? Then the Discover Scuba Diving Experience is for you. Join us for a day on the boat and after a small briefing you will go diving with your personal instructor for the first time. Whilst on the boat you will have the opportunity to do 2 dives and go snorkelling if you wish.
With this tour you will see much of the island that most tourists miss when they come to Koh Lanta, particularly the South. You will visit Koh Lanta’s original main town, “ Old Town” located on the South West of the island where life is much more traditional and many of the houses are built on stilts out over the water. Here you will have the chance to visit a Chinese temple.
After Old Town, a short trip further south takes you to Sang Ga U, a traditional Sea Gypsy Village where you can see the inhabitants fish and hear about how Coconut Oil is made. Then heading to the East you will be escorted to the National Park, Where monkeys can be seen playing in the park or in one of the lakes. Depending on what trip you have chosen, you can also fit in a ride on an Elephant into the jungles of Koh Lanta. This is a great chance to get up close to these magnificent beasts.
Finally a trip to one of the main industries on the island (that is not tourist related), rubber tree harvesting, our guide talks you through these fascinating plants and the process that turns its sap into a very valuable commodity.
One of the most popular trips from the island, this speedboat trip takes you to 4 beautiful islands where you get the opportunity to snorkel from the boat. Each location is ideal for all the family and offers plenty of reef fish to watch and enjoy (do not forget your underwater camera here). At midday lunch is provided on the idyllic beach of Koh Kradan where you will have plenty of time to enjoy playing on the beach and swimming in the clear blue sea.
Finally you travel to Koh Mook for what is, for most people, the highlight of the day, Emerald Cave. This cave is barely visible from the rocks along the coastline of Koh Kraden but once inside it opens out into a large cave. As you swim through with your guide, the world will turn dark and then you will see just a small chink of light. Head for the light and you will find a truly hidden gem, Emerald beach. This beach is completely hidden from the outside world and only accessed from the cave, pirates used to use this beach to hide their booty and some say this is the true inspiration for the famous book and film, “The Beach.”
Koh Rok is part of the National Park and is a real paradise island. A short speedboat trip will take you there and you will have the opportunity to spend the day on the beach, enjoying the beautiful sandy beaches and the clear blue waters.
There are many activities you can do whilst on the island, trekking inland into the jungle, snorkelling, canoeing and much more.
Our tour to Phi Phi takes in all the sights of both islands. During this tour you will visit a number of the different bays including Maya Bay where the film “The Beach” was filmed and Viking Cave.
Next a trip to the main village of Phi Phi where there are Thai delicacies and local souvenirs to try, look at or even buy.
As well as viewing Phi Phi from the beaches, we also take a stroll to a fantastic viewpoint where you will enjoy a well-deserved drink whilst enjoying the panoramic views.
Just past the car ferry piers on Mainland Thailand, you can find the famous Hot springs. Fed from underground streams and heated to 40-50 Degrees as they pass through the jungles, these springs are popular with the locals as much as the tourists.
A short trek will take you through the jungle where you can see quite a few of these wonders, until you reach the last one. Emerald Pond looks like it has been built just for our pleasure, such is its size and shape and perfection of it’s clear blue water.
A special thanks to Mike (Manta Point) for providing us with some of its spectacular underwater images
and to Stephan from Andaman Graphics for his creativity in designing this website.
